On TV3 News tonight was the news Disney is buying Pixar for US$7.4 billion. I seem to recall reading about that days and days ago on Digg or Threadwatch or somewhere else. It's finally percolated up to the mainstream media anyway.
Although looking down the list of so called latest business headlines on NZHerald, I can see a bunch of other stories there that are hardly new. Sex.com sold over a week ago for example.
Perhaps it is true. Perhaps the best way to get your international news is to subscribe to half a dozen good RSS feeds and have it delivered fresh and free to your door.
Back to the subject... Sarah was watching the news and noted Steve Jobs was a mega billonare again over the deal with Disney. She asked me that if she started saving her pocket money now and got a job after school and then got a job after she left school when would she be a billonaire? That's a damn good question. I wish she'd hurry up and be that billionaire so that I can retire.
I had the day off work today. Drove to Cambridge and back (burning $40 of gas in the process now that it's $1.60 a litre) to get my family. Then had a crack at a little cabinet making, and then had a frosty beer and read my book on the deck. Perhaps I should take every Wednesday off.
