The Technology Gods are smiling on me

My new project couldn't be going better. I must have done something to please the Technology Gods because it's been at least 2 weeks since anything has gone wrong with the technology. The little tiny PC/104 PC is now festooned with wires and plugs. Ubuntu is working out just fine on it (thanks J), even though the module only has 64MB RAM and a 133MHz processor. The Wifi is working without fault even though it's running a buggy driver. And I plugged in the LCD module and it's working just fine too even though it's now 8 years old.

All that's left to do now is get the cell phone and GPRS working and then write a butt load of software.

Of course it hasn't all gone perfectly, the Gods of Luck are shitting on me in return. I found the perfect power supply to run it all on mp3car.com. A guy had advertised a PC/104 vehicle power supply module that would have been perfect for my project. Not only was it perfect but it was sodding cheap too. But the bugger didn't reply to my PMs. I waited 2 weeks for him to respond, but heard nothing. My driving boots had sold on Trademe and the money was burning a hole in my bank account, so yesterday I splashed on out another (slightly sub optimal) power supply. Bugger me though if today that guy from mp3car.com didn't list his damn power supply on Ebay.

Bloody hell, if I'd just waited aother day I could have had the perfect solution that would have had extra "cool" value. While I was stomping about the office unhappy with those events, I got am email telling me the pwoer supply I had bought had just shipped. If only to rub my face in the dog poo of my impatience.

Anyways, I have lots of code to write and if I sit here coding it, I won't be out spending money.
