I just want it to be bigger

Now there's something you don't want to hear your wife say.

However....

I was in Best Buy on the East Side today looking at Plasma HD TVs. I'm glad it ain't me trying to make a decision about which one to buy. There was a huge selection, each one better or worse than the other. And it's all in the detail as to which one is the one to purchase.

While trying to avoid the Best Buy children that kept asking me if I need help making my selection, I was standing in front of a Sony Monster 60 inch all singing all pole dancing model, wondering if I could fit it into my suitcase to get it home. A couple walked up behind me to look at it too. I heard Mrs American say "I just want it to be bigger".

I turned to check out who the lucky lucky bastard it was that was married to that woman. Bugger me if that lucky bastard didn't say "Really?". Bloody hell man. If you get approval to buy a TV bigger than 60 inches, grab it with both hands! You'll need to.

I went for a road trip with Brian this weekend up to Door County. I was up there with the family in October 2004 too. It's a beautiful part of the planet up there.

Thanks

Thanks Rik, for mowing the lawns. Beer, cash and loose women will be coming your way in appreciation.
Thanks to Brian for driving and being excellent company all weekend.
And extra special thanks to Jody for doing my laundry and hanging my shirts (despite them not being hung in alphabetical order).

The Photo

On Saturday evening we went fishing off the wharf at Egg Harbor. That's Brian walking determinedly to catch them fish. What this photo doesn't show is the extreme wind chill. No fish was caught.

  • Dave, you are entirely welcome. I was happy to do your laundry, but the comment about not hanging your shirts in alphabetical order has left me saddened. I obviously didn't live up to your expectations . . . sorry, mate! Would that be alphabetical by brand name, or by color? Should I read each of the little tags and alphabetize by the first word in the wash & care instructions? Let me know and I'll endeavor to improve my performance next time! How Gabba can live up to these exacting standards, I'll never know. I'm such a failure!

  • I don't know how to alphabetize my shirts. If I knew that, I'd do it myself. Gabba knows though.

  • I trust the lovely Jody isn't having to deal with the CK smalls......just wooshy them in the basin, give them a loving squueze and they'll be ready in the morning. Tell her we ladies iron shirts down under...maybe when she's done the ironing they'll be filed correctly in the wardrobe.

  • I only mowed the ugly part, you know, around the hangi pit. And I nearly f'%8ed your mower when I ran over one of the random stumps. The blades went all "tits-up". But I managed to fix them with your persuader.

  • If it makes you feel better, I've heard bigger isn't always better. Yes I have fished the Green Bay. Suggested tags: Cold. Worm. Shrinkage. Tease. Here's to good wine, women, and song. An excellent trip, always a good time.
