I don't know of anyone in my family (the Cooper or Pearson side) that actually served in any of the wars, much less anyone that was in the army and served overseas for anythig else either. But Gabba's dad served in Korea during the war there. Bill Reeves was an entirely acceptable Father-In-Law, but today we remember him for his time in Korea.

This is a photo of the war memorial on Paku Hill in Tairua, taken on Sunday afternoon. There was a memorial service for the diggers that didn't come home on Monday morning. I didn't hear it because it was bloody freezing and so bed was a lot more inviting.

Thanks Bill!
