Parenting Tip # 219

Occasionally there would be an argument in our house between the giblets about who would do something first. Didn't matter if it was good (playing on the computer) or bad (brushing teeth before bed), sometimes the gibbies just couldn't sort it out for themselves.

Then Gabba hit on an evil plan that has sorted it out completely and there hasn't been an argument since. We've assigned Sarah to even days and Ali to odd days. So if the date is an even number, Sarah gets to, or has to, go first. It's beautiful in it's simplicity.

Now before every major and minor event the slimp3 on the stereo is consulted to see the date. It displays the time and date as it's screensaver (sic).

Parenting Tip #219 is somewhat related to Parenting Tip #17, which is, never have more than 2 children. I can't think how to apply #219 to 3 children. Although I can see it working for 7 kids, you just assign each one to a day.
