The New Zealand Dotterel tastes a little like chicken

Yesterday I went hunting and found the rare New Zealand Dotterel scrounging dinner off Bethels Beach. Mmmmmm. So tasty.

I think I've done the west coast beaches to death now. And I'm bored now with taking photo's in the city. But gas is now too expensive to get out of Auckland every weekend to find new and interesting locations that I've never been to before.

What to do.

  • Bloody urbanite! Think outside the square. Take the giblets across to Tiritiri Matangi on the ferry and plant some trees and have a look at the wildlife. Better yet, drive to sandspit (yes, alright love, I know that will use petrol) and take the ferry to Kawau Island. What about the tunnels on North Head? Or, alternatively, go vist snow planet. Or come and see me at work one afternoon... driving back into the city at the moment the view froM Tip Top corner on the way home is stunning... sun setting behind no tree hill etc.

  • Thanks for the correction Debbie. I still reckon either one of us could be corrcet though. Brandon, done North Head (you need to catch up!) Tiri is this summer. Kawau is a damn good idea though, thanks.
