Revealed: Whales are the cause of CO2 buildup and rising sea levels!

I've been thinking about CO2 buildup and rising sea levels. Sometimes it (global warming) crosses my mind as I accelerate harder than necessary away from traffic lights with my 3.5l engine howling in a most arousing fashion. Tonight I had an idea.

I think it's whales that's causing global warming, CO2 buildup and rising sea levels.

Blaming Americans and their unbelievably stupid choices when it comes to their hopelessly inefficient pickup trucks and SUVs for causing global warming is perhaps a little too easy. Perhaps the real cause is not as visible to us.

What the hell are all those whales doing out in the ocean? I suspect them, the dodgy buggers. They are all eating shitloads of plankton. Plankton provide us with a good amount of our oxygen, which means they also consume a good amount of our CO2.

If we dragged all the whales out of the ocean, surely the sea level has to drop, without all those fat bastards in there!

The Japanese might really be on to something with all that whale hunting they do?

The Photo

I just found some of the photos I took during my recent 28 hours in Sydney. It's the Opera House.

  • Or perhaps, it's not so deep ;-)

  • Wow, I guess this is your best enlightenment ever... And 3.5l in a german engine are definitly a very good way to create some CO2. I wouldn't change that..

  • No, I think it's us Americans... we are to blame for everything else, so why not this too... I mean, just because we aren't the Lead Paint Toy capital of the world doesn't mean that we aren't striving to be. Plus, I think that it's the Bottled Water Companies and Energy Providers getting together... if all the water in the world is bottled up, the Earth can't cool and you will need to run the AC more and consume more energy (ignore the technological gadget contribution to energy consumption). God Bless the USA

  • Dave your thought process is flawless! Really it doesn't matter if the water rises.. Theres a few low lying nations out there that would be better off under the water. Besides, if the oceans do rise, we can all just throw an industrial sized handy towel on it, those puppies carry water like Lindsay Lohan holds a bottle of vodka... just wont let it go...

  • It was nice to come here from the PP forum and see a homely sight. I live in Sydney ;-) I think it's more likely to be the bacteria... whales are big, but there's something like 10^30 bacteria in the ocean, they're not as noticable, but they metabolise as well.
