NIKON D70 - 2 sec, f9 at 27mm

I've made 3 attempts at building a sound trigger circuit and have failed. Partly because DSE no longer stocks a decent supply of electronics parts and partly because my electronics skills aren't good enough to substitute alternate components.

Eventually I thought bugger it and bought the complete kit and had a mule import it into New Zealand without declaring it.

It took less than 10 minutes to assemble tonight and then the kids got thoroughly drenched popping balloons with ever more water in them.

It's likely I'll get sick of popping things and breaking other things in a few days. See these examples for the kind of fun I'm gonna have. It's even more likely Gabba will tire of it before I do. So if you'd like to borrow my sound trigger, I'm happy to post it, along with a PC Sync cord* to anywhere in New Zealand (completely for free) so that you can piss your spousal unit off too.

You can find my email address on our contactus page, just send me your mailing address. All I ask is a link in return**. Oh, and that you send it back when you're done.

The Photo

I set the camera to bulb and pressed the shutter while the giblets popped the balloon. The pop fired the flash and then I let go the shutter. The exif doesn't really do justice to how the shot was taken.

It's the youngest giblet popping a balloon half filled with water.

Right, now I'm off to Trade Me to try and find some hideous Lladro to break! The world will be a better place without it.

*You'll need to supply your own strobe that has a PC Sync port of course

**To the marketing geeks in the office, see my cunning link building campaign here? ;-)
