NIKON D70 - 1/15 sec, f1.8 at 50mm
Today is our 13th wedding anniversary. Not a bad effort I think. Although today hardly turned out to be the romantic day that perhaps it could have been.
This morning I went back to hospital to have the stitches in my eye removed. We turned up at the clinic at 10am, sat around for an hour and then they dragged my up to the Operating Room. I was wired up to all the machines and then lay there for 15 minutes while they rustled up a surgeon. Just a local anaesthetic this time, which thankfully was drops on my eye and not a needle poked into it. Then they spread my eyelids with a spreader thing, which really does hurt as much as you think it might and then I got a close up look at scissors and tweezer things. First he went round snipping all the stitches, which took maybe 4 minutes, and then he started to pull them all out. That was a really wierd sensation. Although I couldn't feel anything, my eye ball was being tugged about. The stitch with the knot in it was particularly yucky. The operation itself only lasted about 10 minutes. But it was thoroughly unpleasant the whole time.
I really don't like operating rooms. It's the 4th time I've been in one and it aint getting easier. There is always lots of people and they all know whats going on. There lots of machines and sharp things they all want to poke into me. The people that work there though are damn nice and do a superb job.
Anyway, we got home about 2:00. I had a 30 minute kip, and then got up and felt like crap for most of the rest of the day. My eyesight has definately changed. I can't figure out if it's better yet, I guess I won't know for another week or so. The rain on the back window of the car looked a little trippy this afternoon. Although perhaps I'm the only one with vision odd enough to recognize it.
For our anniversary celebration dinner we had hotdogs and fries!
Happy Anniversary Gabba. I love you! God only knows what I'd be without you.
