When I was a kid, in the 70s, my father could afford to heat one room in the house. The living room was probably 30+ degrees with the fire raging and the rest of the house probably down around 12 or 14 degrees, for about 4 months of the year. I have no idea why the hall door wasn't opened to heat the rest of the house. Was not allowed

Every cold night, like tonight, I thank the gods of IT, whom afford me a decent wage, that I can heat our whole house warm, all internal doors open. Thank you gods of IT.
