Someone here posted some weeks back they went for a wander in Kirk's Bush in Papakura and saw the world's largest known taraire tree, measuring 20.5 m, so I thought I wanted to see that too and today we did, schlep all the way down there, for a most pleasant walk through the remnant native forest.
And along the way managed the double of a #mosstodon and a #mushtodon

(Ganoderma australe) but I've submitted the observation to #iNaturalist to see what the fungi nerds there think.
