One of the chicks in our US office is leaving this week to go work for another company in town. The other company wouldn't know the internet if it got down and blew them, but thats by the by.

It occurred to me that I can completely wipe her from existence by just removing her from Gaim and deleting her from my Thunderbird address book. Gone. Just like that.

Just think about how many people you know that are only online. Your only contact with them is IM or email or tripping over them on a daily basis in a forum or usenet or you read their blog every now and then. You too can remove them completely from your life with the delete key. And unlike the movies, there never is any blood or other goopy messes when eliminating them.

Iran, to me, used to be a middle east country with an crazy oppressive government that used to be regularly at war, that gets shaken to pieces every 5 years by a huge earthquake and that is always having appeals in Red Cross to be saved. But thats all changed now. One of the developers of PixelPost is in Iran. I read his posting on the PP forums twice a day and now I know him. Iran could just as easily going back to a shitbox country if I just stop reading that forum.

The photo is of Sarah playing in the waves at Long Bay. Behind her are birds that must have been feeding on a school of fish. They stretched for hundreds of meters in both directions. there was flocking hundreds of them.

  • Generally I do not comment on your photo's Dave, as I know diddly squat about photography, but this one is genuinely cool. Thanks for the daily amusement/social commentary. On Ya! Happy Holidays everyone. (the non-religious salutation)
