Walking on the rocks at night is harder than you'd think

After doing nothing all day, I headed out at 5:00pm to Long Bay to get some twilight photos.

After walking towards Oakura on the track along the top of the cliffs for an hour, I headed down to the beach to see what I coudl see. By then it was getting dark, but I think I got some photos. I guess we'll all know if I did or not over the next few posts.

Anyway, I decided that it'd be easier to walk back to Long Bay on the rocks. It was low tide and looked easy enough. It was a whole different story in the dark but. It was as slippery as hell and I couldn't see the rock pools with the flash light so kept stepping in them. I also didn't want to fall off any big rocks and break my leg. I could just imagine the story on the radio the next day. "Some knob was out walking on the rocks at low tide in the pitch black and fell over and broke his leg. He had to be rescued by the police after his wife became worried he hadn't returned. Can you believe the dick thought he could get photos in the dark?"

Thanks to Gosu for the inspiration for tonight's photo. Serendipitously, It follows on from last night's meme.
