Toilet seat up, or toilet seat down

This has been playing on my mind for a couple of days...

I put the toilet seat down after I've had a wee wee. Actually I put the lid down too. Every time, without fail. But I noticed on Saturday night that the toilet seat was up when I went to deliver some of the 4 beers and 3 or 4 glasses of wine I had consumed. Which was odd because the only other man in the house at the time was Rik. Unless Gabba or Kim pee's standing up which negates this whole post.

I've noticed that at the office too, I find the toilet seat up more than it's down when I go do number 1s.

So am I a sensitive guy, aware of the needs of woman, or am I a broken man? Have I learned (should that be learned or learnt) to happily co-exist with the female mob I hang with, or have I capitulated to their evil whims? Am I caring and understanding or am I still scared of the evil skank that the shit for brains guy that fathered me shacked up with? She used to do a lot of yelling about the toilet seat from memory.

Should I rebel and leave the seat up every now and then, or should I just pee sitting down like a girl and then this is not a problem? Hmmm. I don't know.

The photo above needs explanation as clearly my desire for the shot exceeded my photography skills. On driving to work yesterday, there was a shaft of sunlight hitting Waiake Bay and the ocean was "steaming" away just in that spot. I've never seen that before, but it was spooky and cool. I couldn't decide on the right angle and couldn't decide if I should go down closer to the water on the sand in my work shoes or what I was actually taking a photo of. But at least publishing it here I will get all sorts of critique and suggestions on what I should have done. Huh?

  • You are a sensitive man, mate! I wish the three testosterone geeks in my house would learn a lesson from you! You should always put the seat down after use of the facilities, hehe! Thanks for proving there are good ones out there!
