This is where we went, what we listened to, tweeted, coded, blogged and spent on this day
For so many years, I had a supply of TV coaxial cables of various length. Lovingly saved for whenever I might need one.
I now have a CRT colour TV and a VCR and can I find one of those cables anywhere now? Nope.
So I'm going to have to go down and buy one to see if I can get the TV and VCR working.
@spudooli@mastodon.nzWent down to Bunnings to buy a coax cable. $7.
Get home to find I should have bought male to female for VCR to TV and I had bought male to male.
I do have and did find my very old stash of coax gender benders. I knew I kept them for a good reason.
Ha. I win.
@spudooli@mastodon.nzAlright, not winning now.
Seems to be a VCR tape stuck in the machine.
No eject. No play, no FF or RW.
@spudooli@mastodon.nzAnd sadly the other score from the father's attic, a Yamaha CA 700, isn't making music.
Found it missing a plug on the end of its power cable. So wired in a new one. Connected up an old iPod and while the heat sinks have got warm, no music be coming out.
So I'm none from 2 for the day.
He's also got a Pioneer all in one stereo from the 90s up there, but that isn't anywhere near as cool. So it'll be off to the ewaste, probably along with these other 2 relics.
