Drove the Taihape to Napier road. I give it a 9 out of 10. It would get a 10 if I drove it in my car instead of a godforsaken Holden Commodore. And it would get an 11 out of 10 if the middle 143km was gravel. But I had my wife by my side and Icehouse on the stereo so I no complain. Although she says we are not allowed to go home via the same road.

Since December 1996, we have spent an incredible $124,815.85 on petrol.
One one hand it's a depressingly large amount of money. On the other hand we've gone places. Mostly backwards and forwards to work I guess.
