This morning I added a breaking news feature to my NZ news aggregator. But I think there is a very wide gap between what I think is breaking news and what the NZ Herald thinks is important breaking news. I suspect I might be removing new feature that took a couple of hours to code.

I bloody love the internet.

I added a new feature to my news site. I then lamented NZHerald was taking the piss with their clickbait fake breaking news bollocks. @Niall suggested I use AI to figure out if the breaking news is clickbait or not.

35 minutes later I have an LLM (Llama3.2) installed on my server here at home and a proof of concept script returning an answer telling me it is indeed clickbait.

Gosh I've had a good day coding today.

Some days the code kicks my arse and some days I smash the code.

Today was the day I looked at the code and declared I am the captain now.
