This is where we went, what we listened to, tweeted, coded, blogged and spent on this day
While looking at the data behind my 1 million played song database of 4 Boomer/GenX radio stations (https://www.spudooli.com/projects/too-much-queen), I noticed a trend where The Coast basically played the same playlist on the 6th of Feb for 2 years in a row.
For example since June 2023 they have played Welcome to Our World only twice and on the same day in 2024 and 2025 and within an hour of each year.
When I dump all the songs played on those 2 days, there is lots of overlap. Me and my LLM friend are now trying to figure out what percentage of the playlist was the same for those 2 days and which other days the programme director just said screw it, play the same playlist again, I can't be arsed making a new playlist.
@spudooli@mastodon.nz It's that time of the planetary orbit where we are once again shouting at the TV because the Olympic Games curling is back on.
@spudooli@mastodon.nz And bugger me if these 2 posts aren't on exactly the same day and within an hour of each other but 4 years apart. How does the universe work like that?
@spudooli@mastodon.nzPerhaps I am as lazy as the program director at The Coast FM. Just recycling old posts on the same day every year
